Had I been within range of the Internet yesterday, I would have published this as a reminder of the Declaration of Independence.
These men, had they failed, would have been executed for treason. Instead, they despoiled the divine right of kings.

My main wish for most politicians today would be that they aspire to 1/10 of the drive, conviction and moxie these brave men had.
A quote from my namesake:
"Freedom is not a gift bestowed upon us by other men, but a right that belongs to us by the laws of God and nature."
King's power had long before been circumscribed. Can you post about the effect that high taxes had on their motivations?
