Tory teabaggers

The tea party "movement" has been an astroturf effort from the beginning. Here's my evidence: My lovable liberal email address is on their list. How did it get there? A human teabagger wouldn't put me on their email list, though a webbot harvesting email addresses for a PR firm wouldn't care about my opposing ideology as it tried to pump up the appearance of a big movement.

There's more evidence. I get teabagger email from state organizations in many different states. Since I stopped reflexively deleting the teabagger email, I've heard from:

  • Colorado - via Blue Sky Factory - multiple times
  • Arkansas - via the same email server - multiple times
  • Texas - yep, same server - multiple times
  • Ohio - uh-huh (previously had no idea where the hell Zanesville is, not to mention local wingnut "Coach" Dave Daubenmire)
  • New York - multiple times
  • and a Virginia/Tennessee two-fer
All these far-flung organizations just happen to have the same email provider and list.

Of course, CNN continues to imagine that it might be possible that the teabagging organizations are really grassroots eruptions of popular sentiment:
Some Tea Partiers have voiced anger and concern over whether the powerful groups are "astroturfing'' what is supposed to be a grass-roots coalition -- the idea that the movement is being organized by old-fashioned GOP bigwigs to promote their agenda.
It's plainly obvious that they're centralized exploitations of the passion of wingnut ignoramuses. But CNN won't tell its readers the plain truth. CNN has to pretend its own ignorance in order to split the difference between, in this case, corporate conservatives and teabaggers.

It's maddening to try to get news out of our media. I imagine it's a lot like reading Pravda in the Soviet days.

Why is Fred Thompson spamming me?

Fred, I'm not interested, never have been. I know you need something to keep you busy in your retirement. Did you ever consider needlepoint? Star of MP3 - isn't that quite a comedown?

I'm going to try the unsubscribe link, see if that gets yet another yammerhead out of my inbox.

Wingnut spammers

Why is it that I never get spammed by liberals but I often get spammed by wingnut netzines? (Nutzines?) Are they trying to lower their own credibility?

Maybe they think there's nowhere to go but up.

Today's entrant on my spam list was NetRightDaily or some such generic, forgettable name. Yep, still obsessed with the usual right-wing shibboleths.

Spamalot

There are so many jokes in Bob Dole sending Scott McClellan a poison pen letter by email.

Dole does email?

Guess who's going into Scotty's spam filter!

Were they best buddies or something? Or is Dole just looking for publicity for an upcoming book on the demise of his Republican Party?

Yawn! The GOP is really scraping for spinners now.

McCain-Dole, that's the ticket! Been there, done that. Didn't learn from it.

Slammin' the spam

My inbox tells me I can have a penis like a fire hose made of mountain ash. Heeey, babyyy!

Finally, as a middle-aged man, I understand what teenage girls feel when confronted with Cosmopolitan. They are fifteen; I wish I had one attribute of a fifteen-year-old.

The spammers are really missing an unfilled need, though. What 50-year-old guys really need is not more priapism than you can shake a stick at. We already have white chest hair and dunlop's disease, and the combination is mutton dressed up as ram.

What we need is a daily flatulence prevention drug. Then at least we won't be repulsing others with anything but our personalities.

Then, too, imagine the political uses, as TML did on the phone! Put the Republican Presidential candidates on a maintenance dose and silence all their verbal effluent. No more wingnuttery with the overpowering odor of bullshit.

Of course, Rush Limbaugh would go broke, and Big Pharma would lose one of their best customers, so maybe it's not a net profit-maker.
