Facts, who needs 'em?

Obama was born in Hawaii. Tough shit, wingnut tinfoil idiots.

Will this fact deter wingnuts from believing every wild bullshit story about Obama or any other Democrat or liberal? Uh, no, of course not. You have been awake some portion of the last, oh, forty years, haven't you?

In fact, this thorough slap-down, pwning debunking won't even stop the wingnuts from believing that Obama was born from the same womb as Osama bin Laden. The wingnuts are just that committed to never learning anything that differs from their prejudgements.

Even when they try the truth

Every now and then, someone in the media tries to set the record semi-straight: Obama's not elitist for vacationing in Hawaii, the state of his birth. Problem is, they always start by reviewing the ridiculous Republican spin. In this case, their production people get the bullshit Republican message into the headline.

Just once, I'd like to see "GOP pushes obvious hogwash."

Update: I figured it out: The Republicans think that the fact that Duhbya vacationed in the shittiest vacation spot in America sets a new, iron-clad rule that every American Presidential contender must vacation in a shitty place and clear brush while doing it. Never mind that Obama doesn't have the money that the Bushes have to buy a vanity ranch.

2000 Four dead in Ohio

Nixon
... contested Hawaii. He did not contest Illinois because he knew Daley's Chicago shenanigans would only be matched by downstate Republican shenanigans.

Non-partisan issue?
Verifiable voting should be a non-partisan issue, and I'm glad you agree. But why isn't it? Why won't the Republican leadership get serious about it? One small clarification: In 2000, networks called Florida for Gore at about 7:50 p.m. EST, about 10 minutes before the polls closed at 7:00 p.m. CST in the the panhandle. That small amount of EST-centric gun-jumping, while wrong, could only have had a negligible effect on turnout.
