The Boston Globe is cutting staff again. Yes, the Globe should be positioning itself as a regional paper, but doing that effectively requires reporters. Readers don't want press releases or ads. They want local content. Too bad about that.
Some of the people who leave newsrooms, voluntarily or not, understand what the problem is. Jon Talton is one of them. Go and read his column, which I first saw in the Progressive Populist.
