The slaying of Dr. George Tiller was an act of political terrorism, intended to strike fear into doctors willing to perform abortions. Why hasn't Scott Roeder been charged under federal terrorism statutes?

As a Kansan, I have to say I think it was pretty important for our state to prosecute him first. There would be no bar to the feds charging him after his state trial is over, which may be necessary to protect other abortion providers should the state verdict be for something less than first degree murder.

True - and good points.
