Phil Robertson is the moral equivalent of ISIS tyrant Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Robertson quotes Proverbs, "All who hate me love death."
His choice for Muslims is the same choice that ISIS has posed to Yazidis (and doesn't even offer to Shias): Convert (to my extremist religion) or die.
In fact, Robertson thinks it's too late even for conversion. "That time has come and gone," he says.
For Robertson, there's no place in the world for moral reasoning, only for winning the war over which god is the bigger murderous asshole. And he thinks Satan is the problem!
Of course, Sean Hannity, handmaiden to genocide, is just fine with all this.

Bill of attainder
No, not working corruption of blood, as fascist ninny Ann Coulter would.
Fox - whatever its bullshit lip service to the contrary - is tainted with its hatred of the liberal work that is the U.S. Constitution.

Bullshitters hate having their bullshit called
Rough paraphrase: You don't get to call bullshit on me.
But Hannity can manufacture all the bullshit he wants.
(From the ThinkProgress post Hannity Explodes After Being Confronted By ThinkProgress About Previous Offer To Be Waterboarded For Charity. By the way, we on the left don't help our cause - other than page views - by using explodes when devolves into douchebaggery would be much more accurate.)

Sean Hannity, lying douchebag
There is simply no explanation for this other than the one I've been asserting for years: Fox is a propaganda outlet with no interest in the truth.

No vagina dialogues here
The inability to talk to women as people may be why Teapublicans need to reduce them back to reproductive chattel.

Lying without consequence
"Obama inherited unemployment of 5.6%."
This is of course a lie, only one among many.
Conservatives...
- You can't trust their facts.
- You can't trust their analysis.
- You can't trust their good faith.
In past eras, even those dominated by assholes, Americans were able to see what was true and act on it. We no longer are - because an industry that is Constitutionally charged with showing the truth is dominated and steered by bought and paid for by right-wing corporatists.

Product and propaganda
The single unifying principle of the Fox media empire is that they're selling product. Watching the NFL...
- Michael Vick was in Atlanta and then (memory hole) he came to Vickadelphia. Yay! Redemption from "whatever problems off the field." And respect. You have to respect his talent (which is true).
- The announcers constantly hype one thing or another. The action can never speak for itself. Like Sean Hannity or Megyn Kelly, they must give it meaning - the meaning that Fox needs for the action to have. Viewers are expected not to notice how often the announcers miss what's plainly in front of all of us, and most viewers are all too happy to accommodate.
- Injured Denver Broncos receiver Kenny McKinley "passed away." We can't have suicide intruding upon the circus of our modern imperium.
- Even when obviously selling, media recognizes this about itself. Audi's ad tells us that we've been propagandized - "I've been told." Then it in turn and by definition tells us its own propaganda.
I am thankful that my father taught me on many weekend afternoons that TV constantly purveys bullshit. He did this by mocking both ads and sports announcers. I only hope I've passed this on to my daughter.
American families everywhere need this lesson.

Conservative cred
You have to wonder about a news reporter who writes a story about Scott Brown's conservatism, on exhibit on "Hannity & Colmes", when Alan Colmes has been gone for months.

What he said
Ellis Weiner nails the tea bag astroturf would-be movement:
2. These same people, whose economic and physical well-being are a matter of supreme indifference to the richest families in America, have been persuaded to insist on policies that will only benefit the richest families in America. There is a term for these people, and it isn't "right-wing" or "conservative" or "patriotic" or even "Republicans." The term is "sucker." These people are suckers. They have been tricked and manipulated into working against their own interests and for the interests of people who could literally not care less about them. Their patron saint isn't Barry Goldwater or Thomas Paine or Ronald Reagan or Jesus H. Christ. It's P.T. Barnum.Laugh all we want at the ridiculous foolishness on the right. But more wingnut violence is coming. Count on it.
...
6. Fox News, a factory of propaganda and lies on the best of days, has decided "the hell with it" and become an outright partisan fomenter of "revolution." ...
...
[I]s all this manipulated, phony "grass-roots" outrage fated to lead to some serious danger to innocent people? For every thousand citizens who gather in public to scream idiotic slogans and proudly flaunt their ignorance, how many more are laboring away in basements and garages, building bombs or assembling arsenals? How many does it take to lead to disaster? The anger and fear of these people are real and, probably in most cases, justified, however much they misidentify their causes. That's what the Limbaughs and Hannitys and Becks depend on exploiting in order to make themselves rich and famous. But this entire cycle (rage; exploitation; more rage) seems to me worse than usual, as does its manipulation by the wealthy and their servants.

Since Al Franken's busy
Hannity and Colmes is now just Hannity. Big whoop. Even for Colmes, twelve years in an abusive marriage was enough.
AP reporter David Bauder must be floating his résumé inside Fox. Is there any other reason he would report this story as if the Fox News line were the slightest bit straight, instead of the usual Roger Ailes (the house of ill repute in this case) bullshit.
Silly me, I expect an honest reporter to acknowledge that Colmes has consciously been a designated victim and only a poser, not a real liberal. I mean, please, Al Franken could see it years ago, and he's in comedy.

Why America is screwed up
Throwaway line reporting on Michael Savage's typical proud, loud ignorance (about autism this time):
Savage, with more than 8 million listeners a week, is talk radio's third most popular personality behind Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, according to Talkers magazine. It is no wonder so many Americans value stupidity above learning. It's what they like to listen to.

The nightmare scenario
John McCain, the Republicans' great white-haired hope, is the last man standing. He picks Mike Huckabee to balance the ticket and reunite the bullies and the fundies. The wealthies decide that this is going to work for them.
We Democrats nominate Hillary, but the fight with Obama is too bitter to heal quickly. Hillary picks another bloodless centrist technocrat, say, Bill Richardson to balance the ticket, appeal to the Hispanic vote, and keep it in the Clintonista house.
Duhbya lies low. The swiftboaters find a picture of Hillary walking past a protester holding a sign that says, "Hanoi Hilton is too good for baby-killers," or whatever the Rovians want to Photoshop into it. The MSM says that they have to cover it since Drudge did and the story is in play. And anyway she should have ripped that sign up on the spot.
Sean Hannity wets himself with excitement. Chris Matthews slurs, "See, I told you she was an unfeeling bitch." Rush Limbaugh feels so good that he actually kicks the pills - except for Viagra, Cialis, and every other ED remedy he can shop for.
Ann Coulter writes a book called Liberal Torturers, in which she lays all torture in the history of the West and most of the East at the feet of blood-sucking liberals. Inquisition? Liberal Jews in Spain. Jeanne D'Arc? The French, for chrissake. Salem witch trials? Massachusetts!! She appears on the cover as a dominatrix clad in studded black leather.
We need all this circus because the economy is totally in the shitter. The vacillating Dems in Congress fight Duhbya's $150 billion self-stimulus plan to leave no billionaire behind. Then they cave. The Republican media operation successfully blames the Dems for their one-month delay, despite the obvious fact that the stimulus where they applied it couldn't possibly have helped in the vital short run. For that, the money needed to go to people who would spend it, instead of just making their ill-advised investments whole and rewarding bad choices.
McCain wins, and nothing changes.
Nothing, that is, until the cancer comes back on his left cheek or until 2012, when he's 76 and too old to run for reelection.
Make way for President Huckabee!
I didn't say this had a happy ending.
Update: Found that picture!

Homeocrite
Brent Bozell is such a hypocrite that 'hypocrite' is not an emphatic enough word. Since it's built out of 'hypo-' for too little and '-crite' for (self-)criticism, let me suggest substituting 'homeo-' for its association with homeopathic remedies that are so diluted they are unlikely to contain even a single molecule of the original active ingredient.
Bozell criticizes Carole Simpson for endorsing Hillary Clinton. Simpson is no longer a working journalist! Yet Bozell, despite ample appearances on Hannity & Colmes, has not raised a peep about Hannity's fundraising for Rudy Giuliani.
Really, you can't take conservatives seriously about anything.
(Note: No mention of this from Peter Schworm, who needs to get better about context.)
