House of Saud

Call Duhbya! There's no justice, no human rights, and no democracy in Saudi Arabia.

A Saudi Arabian human rights attorney is asking the government to allow him to represent a woman who was gang-raped -- and then sentenced to prison for speaking out about the case.

The attorney, Abdulrahman al-Lahim, had his license revoked last week by a judge for speaking to the Saudi-controlled media about the case, al-Lahim told CNN.

The judge more than doubled the sentence against al-Lahim's 19-year-old client because she spoke to the media about the case, a court source told Arab News, an English-language Middle Eastern daily newspaper.

The woman -- who was initially sentenced in October 2006 to 90 lashes -- had her sentenced increased to 200 lashes and was ordered to serve six months in prison under Saudi Arabia's strict Islamic law.

I'm sure a democracy advocate as resolute, barrel-chested, and big-packaged as Duhbya will want to invade immediately to rectify that. Plus, fifteen of the nineteen 9/11 hijackers were Saudi, so he'll be able to convince Americans, despite our lack of will in spreading his kind of democracy.

The House of Saud is a blight on the earth. What comes after may be worse.

They are all cave men over there. If we could bring a bunch of those women over to the US and show them the modern world, we could arm them and they would kill those stupid saudi men in their sleep. How can we continue to be friendly with a country that has no rights for women. How can we deal with these cavemen?

The treatment of women in Saudi Arabia is an outrage. Is there anything we can do to help this poor woman?

Why isn't the Bush administration acting upon these these clear human rights abuses in Saudi Arabia???? Did they not invade Iraq to 'defend freedom and democracy' and 'spread human rights'? Clearly, oil and arms deals have priority in the case of Saudi Arabia.

The rule of thumb is that a society cannot become free until women are emancipated, and of course I use rule of thumb ironically.

I hope you'll all keep coming here and commenting.

The State Department doesn't care. They said it was "astonishing". Astonishing?? It's an outrage!! Bush is in bed with the saudi criminals. If it was his daughter getting beat, he "might" get involved (if his handlers said it was okay). Bush supports these saudi creeps, yet there we are at war bringing "freedom". Freedom to the men. The women haven't got a clue how the world really is because their males keep them in the dark. The whole world is full of women being oppressed by men. How about the young girls who get surgery to their female parts, so they can't enjoy sex.
But I digress.
RISE UP WOMEN OF THE WORLD!!!

Duhbya is not even about freedom for men, except for a small coterie of his cronies. He's about lies and cash and making the rest of us shut up.
